Iman and Kalimah: The Foundation of Faith
Iman (Faith) is the core of a Muslim’s belief, encompassing faith in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree. True Iman is reflected in both belief and actions, guiding a person towards righteousness and submission to Allah.
The Kalimah (Declaration of Faith) is the key to entering Islam. It states:
“La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah” (There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad ﷺ is His Messenger).
This declaration affirms Tawheed (the oneness of Allah) and the finality of Prophethood, serving as the foundation of a Muslim’s life and belief.
A strong Iman and understanding of the Kalimah lead to a life of obedience, sincerity, and unwavering faith in Allah’s guidance.
